Why Give to GBCT?

For nearly nine decades, thousands of actors, directors, crews, and volunteers have been a part of this great organization, which was the first of its kind in the area.

As a community theater, GBCT offers learning opportunities on and off stage. Auditions are open to the public, regardless of previous stage experience, and all cast and crew work alongside seasoned directors, actors, and crew members.

It costs over $125 per day just to keep the Playhouse open. GBCT’s greatest need is dollars – both to produce our plays and maintain our historic building. Just as your household expenses rise, so do ours: insurance, utilities, printing, paint, nails, and even the costs of scripts!

Ticket revenue covers approximately 60% of the cost of producing each play. We pay sales and property taxes and are not subsidized by the government.

GBCT is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization. Please consult a tax advisor on deductibility of donations.

"One of my favorite things about being at the theater is entertaining people and giving them a safe, great night out. It involves the whole community. People go out to eat, they come here, they see us... They laugh and learn, and we laugh and learn with them."
