Auditions
Want to act in one of our productions?
We host open auditions at the Robert Lee Brault Playhouse for all of our Mainstage shows and some Reader's Theater (per director discretion), which typically consist of cold reads from the script with other actors. No prior acting experience or preparation is necessary to be considered for a role, and we welcome all skill levels.
Interested actors should plan to attend at least one day of auditions and stay for the duration of listed times. If you would like to borrow a script or if are interested in auditioning but cannot make the scheduled dates, please contact our box office.

Note: In general, all character ages and descriptions are flexible. The director will cast whoever is the best fit for the role based on their vision of the show.

Times: Monday, October 5 & Tuesday, October 6 from 6:30-8:30pm
Location: Robert Lee Brault Playhouse, Community Room
SYNOPSIS:
Abby is enjoying her prime spot, a top floor sunny room, in a senior living facility, when her chipper new roommate Marilyn arrives. This creates a classic odd couple clash of personalities, sparking a game of one-upmanship to become the sole inhabitant.
What begins as a seemingly innocent bet soon escalates into an epic battle. As the competition gets more dangerous physically and emotionally, they unearth feelings and memories they never expected to come to light. (Comedy, Morality, Irreverent)
CHARACTERS:
ABBY BINDER – (70-80s) long-time resident, belligerent, crotchety woman who prefers a solitary existence. Nothing scares her.
MARILYN – (70-80s) new resident, outgoing, always positive, and always has something to say, much to Abby’s chagrin. It seems there’s nothing that can make her angry.
COLLEEN – (30-50s) Marilyn’s daughter, as competitive as her mother; second role as a as haunted house spectre (woman in white)
DEREK – (30-50s) Marilyn’s son-in-law, reluctant participant; second role as a as haunted house spectre (clown)
SCOTTY – (Mid-late 20s) friendly employee at Bristol Place Senior Living Facility and part-time actor
BENJAMIN – (30-50s) 3 characters: mystery man, parachute instructor, haunted house spectre (Zombie Butler)
SHOW DATES:
December 3-6 & 10-13, 2026
REHEARSALS:
– Rehearsals will typically run Sunday 4:00-6:00pm and Monday through Wednesday 6:30-8:30pm
– Dates and times of conflicts provided at auditions will be considered when finalizing the rehearsal calendar
AUDITIONS INFO:
– Auditions will start with monologues (optional), followed by cold reads from the script with other actors.
– Please plan to stay for the duration of the scheduled audition times.
ADDITIONAL INFO:
– No prior acting experience is necessary, and all are welcome!
